Henri-Edmond Cross

French painter and printmaker, Henri Edmond Cross (1856 - 1910), studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. After meeting Claude Monet in 1883, he began to paint in brighter colours of Impressionism. His earlier works included portraits and still lifes with dark colours of realism.
