Vincent van Gogh

Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853 - 1890) rose to prominence after his death as one of the most well-known and significant figures in Western art history. He produced around 2,100 pieces of art in a decade, including about 860 oil paintings, the majority of which were produced in the final two years of his life.
